Autumn work includes management of grafts, pruning and wiring. Winter is a good time to evaluate your deciduous trees and make decisions regarding minor pruning. After the leaves drop is the best time to evaluate growth and make minor pruning steps to improve ramification and structure. Major pruning should be done when the trees are actively growing in the late spring.
