Monthly Member Workshops - Bring Your Own Trees
All members are welcome at our member-led workshops nearly once a month on a Saturday, usually in the Natomas area. A fee of $20 goes towards supplies.

This series will demonstrate steps to improve your trees using four trident maples and four shimpaku junipers in differing stages of development. Renee Seely and Carmen Scott gives tips on caring for bonsai trees in the seasons of the year.

Autumn work includes management of grafts, pruning and wiring. Winter is a good time to evaluate your deciduous trees and make decisions regarding minor pruning. After the leaves drop is the best time to evaluate growth and make minor pruning steps to improve ramification and structure. Major pruning should be done when the trees are actively growing in the late spring.
